  MATHEMATICS LIBRARY  Organizations of Library: If there is no provision of a departmental library, there should be a separate section in the central or say a general library of the school for mathematics.   MAGIC SQUARES A "magic square" is a rectangular array of numbers, usually from 1 to n 2 ,   so that each column, row, and both diagonals have the same sum.  A magic square is an arrangement of the numbers from 1 to n 2 in an n x n matrix, with each number occurring exactly once, and such that the sum of the entries of any row, any column, or any main diagonal is the same. It is not hard to show that this sum must be n( n 2+1 )/2 . " Odd " Magic Squares, which means that there is an odd number of cells on each side of the Magic Square.
